A New Holy Grail Mascara?

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that make us happy.  It can be a strong cup of coffee.  It can be a cute pair of pants.  And sometimes it can be mascara. It’s hard to explain why and how the little things can put an extra bounce in your step.  But mascara does it for me.I think one of my very first blog posts was about my love for mascara.  Ok, maybe it’s a problem, but I own it.  Isn’t that half the battle?

I’m Just a Girl Standing In Front of Mascara, Asking It To Love Her

I have already listed my top 3 fav high end mascaras of all time.  And that has not changed.  But I think I have a fourth in the mix.

(It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara)

Have you tried It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara?  I saw it on a recent trip to the US when browsing through the magical aisles of Ulta.  I was on a mission to check out their CC cream so it got overlooked on that trip.  But since that time, I’ve heard really good things.  A couple of my staple makeup Youtubers have given the Superhero Mascara their personal endorsement.  One even called it her favourite mascara of all time.   Oh, I’m listening.

But I still felt I need to get through countless bottles of opened mascaras that have lured me with promises of Bambi lashes only to disappoint.  I have more than a dozen mascaras on the go right now. ( I know, I feel the shame).  I also have a fair amount of opened sample tubes (not as much shame).  But still.

(Current favourite mascaras….gulp, there’s a few)

So when I tell you that this month a sample size of the It Cosmetics Superhero mascara turned up in my Ipsy bag..you will believe that it was kismet.  What else could it be?  I have often said that there are few things in life that live up to the hype.  But this sweet little curvy number actually does.  She’s a true lengthening and volumizing mascara.  And I kid you not, she held the curl in my little sparse short lashes.  Squeal.  I love it.  I can’t say that it’s my all time favourite yet….there will have to be some more comparisons between the others.  But let me be clear.  I love them like my children.  It’s hard to pick a favourite.  They each bring something different and elegant to the table.  They all make me happy.  Ok, they’re starting to sound more like lovers than children….but you know what I mean.

What I’m saying is this.  There’s a new sheriff in town.  She’s a Superhero, and she needs a cape.   It’s rare that I use the word “repurchase” in the makeup world.  I have very few Ride of Dies.   But she may make a repeat appearance on my vanity.

(I refer to this stash of mascara as “the others”….or a big fat nope)

(Look at these little baby samples.  How cute are they? )
